Pick Your Own Blueberries!

It’s blueberry season in Georgia, so if you haven’t already, make plans to visit a local farm and pick some blueberries! We visited Berry Patch Farms last year and really enjoyed our experience. (The above photo is of the blueberries we picked!)

Here is a list of pick-your-own farms in Georgia–just click on your county to find farms near you.

Picking blueberries was a great way to spend time outdoors (even though it was blazing hot!) and learn a little more about where our food comes from.

My daughter enjoyed being able to pick the blueberries herself and place them in our basket. She was fascinated with the tall blueberry bushes and most of all, she had fun EATING the blueberries. Since Berry Patch does not spray their blueberries with any pesticides, they are safe to eat right off the bush!

Remember to wear sunscreen and bring a hat to shade your eyes–it’s really hot, but the blueberries are worth it!
